Relegation

Information

The Egyptian Premier League follows a home-and-away double round-robin system. The point calculation method is 3 points for a win, 0 points for a loss, and 1 point for a draw for both teams. If two teams have equal points, the following criteria are applied in order to determine their ranking: a. Higher goal difference b. Higher number of goals scored c. Play-off The top 7 teams in the league enter the championship play-offs; the top 2 in the championship play-offs qualify for the CAF Champions League, and the 3rd place qualifies for the CAF Confederation Cup. The bottom 14 teams in the league enter the relegation play-offs, and the bottom 4 teams in the relegation play-offs are directly relegated.
